had a listen on my headphones and it sounds pretty solid tbh. that bassriff is sick - with a little work on it that could really be big!

for the rest id say the snare needs some more "snap" imho.
    nice one.

yeah, totally agree with what ya have said mate, thanks!

haven't got round to adding some more splashy percussion to give it that sizzling brightness and add to the motion of the marching step!

fx, risers & sweeps... the fucking bane of my producing life after kicks i swear down! speaking of kicks, hos this one sounding, was quite pleased with it?

any tips, videos, samples etc on fx for this would be super duper!

dunno where to find that, but tbh its pretty easy.

just take any wave you want and start adding effects and envelope them :D - i.e. pitchenvelope (obviously), chorus/flanger whatever automation, lfo envelopes... hipass them and fit them in the mix. you want to try white noise with an simple volume envelope, reverb and chorus aswell ;) - hf.

and even more obvious - reverse reverbed snares, cymbals, crashes, open hihats and so on...

the biggest problem i have is getting it to fit into the track... i can do 'found sounds' quite well, like the punches, vocals & percussion elements in this track, but it's those bleepy, swoopy, swirly type sounds that just sound like they are stapled onto the track!

Nah it's software. They should make a midi controller that looks like that though would be sweet.

grimey richie i must admit it gets a tad monotonous but i like the sounds you've used here, very dark indeed, the intro synth reminds me of "machete" by hazard

kick and snare sound good to me, but i think the break needs a little more top end sparkle, there doesn't sound to be anything above the mids except hh's to be honest, needs some sweeps delayed fx and shit to sit in that region

    good work overall though

Your bass isnt as crisp as I have come to expect from you Richie, its still as filthy as a scabby whore's crack but doesnt seem as clear and crisp as you usually produce. I like the drums (new sample pack???) and definately gets my head nodding. Good shit! :)

nah, less is more mate! stimpler samples and moar compression on the kick!

but i know what ya mean bout the bass, it's driving me mad! will have a new lick up soon...

    ---------- Post added at 16:56 ---------- Previous post was at 16:45 ----------

cheers mate... i always make a 'monotonous' version 1st draft, then get opinions... feed them back in and mix it up! next lick will be more varied and more polished
