I was shouting at the DJ in oceana to rewind last night, he looked clueless, eventually i suppose he got upset with the abuse me and my friend were giving him and got the bouncers to kick us out.

    True story.

Couldnt agree more. Fake reqinds annoy me the most. On occasions a tune does deserve a rewind. But sets just dont flow properly when ppl do em every 3-4 tunes.

I like rewinds but what fucks me off is when the DJ plays what got rewound but by the time it gets to the drop where everyone went mad for the rewind he/she mixes something else in defeating the object of the rewind in the first place.

Super rewinds on CDJ's are gangster.

Listen to Rodigan wheel up on CDJ's, then you will know you have made a serious error in judgement.

For me personally, that's the main object of a rewind. To bring another tune in to double up on the drop to send the crowd mental again - thus bringing the energy back up to where it left off.

Although, it is nice on occassion and depending on the tune - to just hear it drop on it's own merit.

Not even that mate, i got loads of sets (and witnessed live) where just as the rewound tune is about to drop the other gets banged in, not even double dropped.

I know what you mean though and that is the bollocks when that happens.

Theres a Rodigan Soundclash Thread in Waffle, with a link to the dnba Soundclash thread.

In there check out Rodigan @ Wuppertal - Germany 2005, he has the art of rewinding down to a T, 35 years + of doing it would give you enough practice...

Nothing AT ALL wrong with a rewind so long as the tune aint shit.

Nothing wrong with CDJ rewinds either..

I think with the faster drum and bass theyre really fucking annoying.

When you're playing the tunes out and blending more its not too bad. Means you get to hear the tune a bit more.

I wouldn't call mixing in another tune fully (not double dropping whith the rewound tunes drop) before the rewound tune drops showboating, i call it a wind up..especially when you love the rewound tune.
