Basically trying to find out what you can do with a remix compo track if you don't win.

I know if you enter a remix competition you do not own any rights to the submitted track.

What I am trying to find out however, is if you don't come 1st are you able to still use you work in any way at all? Like on soundcloud, youtube, radio, podcasts etc.. or do you need permission from the comeptiton hosts?

Would bootleg-in it be an option?

Don't think there would be any fuss as long as you're not selling it.

Thanks for the reply's

Yeah I thought as much, I have heard of people who get fucked over even for putting content up for free download though.

Julio Bashmore got done for a bootleg remix he put up for free download. They said he was using material he did not own the rights to, as a way to further his own career.

They probably wanted tomake an example out of him because of his status but still, pretty harsh, he had to write an apology and pay an undisclosed fee if I remember rightly.

It just seems like a waste.
