Hey guys,

I've a couple of tracks that I'm working on that I guess fit into the liquid category of drum&bass which feature sustained or drone like bass-lines rather than patterned bass-lines. The problem is in order to have the kick come through loud and clear side-chaining is applied to the sub which breaks it up and gives an unwanted pumping effect. Does anyone have advice about reducing this? cheerz :D

design your kicks and sub to not overlap so much in frequency range

It's all about EQ mate, try boosting the kick around 80-100hz and taking a little notch out around 40-50hz. Then do the opposite with the sub.

Hope this helps
