Ive got a problem with my laptop recording......Basically, when recording a mix or using my lappy to record live events the sound is like its been recorded using a microphone...ie, can here people speaking and background noise...and the actual music sounds distant and distorted.

Im using a line in however (theres no mic even connected. I basically have the mixer out (rec or booth, ive tried both) going straight into the lappy input (mic in).
If i do the same set up connection with my PC everythings fine...So this rules out the connections being incorrect.

So im guessing it could be the settings?

Ive tried recording using Audacity, Butt, Wavepad and even straight into cubase...All with the same result.....

Totally lost as to where im going wrong.

Oh ok, I thought you said in another thread you'd just bought a mac.
It sounds like you just need to select the correct input/recording device

Its recording using the laptops built in mic (probably)

Disable it and then choose the correct input device in whatever program you are using to record
