Recording my mixes!

I want to start recording my mixes onto my computer but am not sure of the best way.

What cables do i need? What software should i use?

Can any1 help? The cheaper the better. Thanks

If you have a laptop you will need a Headphone Jack to AUX Cable, probly cost you about £5, and some recording software i.e. Audacity, soundforge, or if you have producing software you can use that aswell. Then you just plug the cable from your record output on you mixer, or master if you dont have a record output, and plug it in the line in/mic input on you laptop/computer.

Thats all good mate but who uses tapes anymore? Also tape quality is shite! I hope ur takin the piss?
