I gave away my RCA to aux adapter to this girl (she was attractive, and needed sound on her xbox, so you see my predicament, lol).

I fashioned a pretty ghetto adapter, but can only get one of the channels working.

SO basically when i record, the right channel has the lovely sexy audio...but the left has weird distortion.

I want to just have the right channel as both channels.

I tried merging the 2 channels by converting the audio file, but you still hear the nasty distortion =P

How can i do away with the left channel, and just be left with the right channel as both?

I tried in Sonar to pan all the way to the right. Sounds good in sonar, but when i save it it goes all distorted and shit.

So, help us out :D If any of the above makes sense...

u should be able to do it, not that familiar with sonar tho.
u need to mute the left channel and duplicate the right so it plays on both as mono, it might sound a bit weird tho coz you'll be missing the left.

Nah, i recorded it in mono so theres no difference between left and right sound. :).

    I'll look into doing that.

just fix the ghetto adaptor then? I'm almost certain it's only some soldering that you'll need to do, if distortion is your problem.

Open that shit up, and replace wires (if shit's complicated in there - it shouldn't be, take pictures of it or draw a map of what's connected to what).

By ghetto adapter i mean i basically took an rca cable, and a old 3.5mm to 3.5mm aux cable and soldered em together, but only had one spare rca cable, so could only do the one channel.

    Right channel has audio.
    Left channel has fuzzy-shitty-wanky-ness.

Nothin to do with my solderin' boy! lol

next time just say cable instead of adaptor, had to google before i knew what you were on about, thought it was an adapter, like some plastic casing with electronic magic inside... :rinsed:

anyway, just buy a new one. Nice and simple. It's too late (belgium, gmt+1 already) to think about what the fuck you're saying, lol. I don't even get what you would like to connect with it? Channels? From input to mixer channels or mixer to amp or mixer to recording deck (laptop - but why would you need two then, this ain't the one), or

Fuck, i'm not even gonna finish this. Buy a new one, or rape the girl (so you had wat you wanted) and steal your cable back. I'm off to bed.

Was gonna buy another one, but i'd have had to wait til monday for it to arrive cos only one shop close to me stocks them, and they close at 6, exactly when i finish work. lol

I ended up starting again because i figured the problem would be eliminated by using 2x rca cables, but i used a rca to mini usb cable, cut off the rca's and soldered onto an old aux cable i had cut in half (only one end worked).

Soldered it all up, plugged it in, and got crystal clear sound :)
