Recording devices - what do you guys use?

I want to start recording little sounds around the house, was wandering if anyone can recommend a good and fairly decent priced recording device? Currently got a mic which i'm yet to try but got a feeling it'l be shit

Tascam do a few little handheld recorders you can plug mic's into, and also usually have mic's built in which are reasonable quality. anything around the 100-150£ mark will have pretty much the same quality, Tascam is a good bet; ensure its 24bit 96khz or higher to get the best out of your recordings (last thing you want to be doing is dithering and redithering your samples as this adds noise)

Yep, I use the Tascam DR-07. Quality seems just fine for basic field recordings.

Also use a tascam, got one for cheap around 80 quid or something. Sound quality is impecable.

got alesis 2 track recorder - was cheap and sounds great

I've got a Zoom H1 which sounds good, paid about £100 for it with the accessories pack.

Zoom handy cams aren't bad have a look at them. Recorded at the olympic in London using one audio came out really good
