    fuckin hell. that was some serious speed. i really feel for this guys family. they must have been overjoyed that he had the chance to compete and its ended in the worst possible way.

    lets be honest, how fuckin dangerous is that! he knew if he came off.. thats it!

    yea u gotta be crazy to partake a sport like that.

    can't help thinking tho a safety net or padding on those metal poles could have saved his life. such a shame.

    In my opinion it's a complete death wish and I'd never do it, but I see why people do it, for the adrenaline etc.. I feel really bad for that guys family. Shit. I agree with NastyLimbCheat, if there was some padding on those poles or a safety net, he could have been saved.

    I think this is fundamental.

    Georg Hackl (a german veteran in luge) said that there should have been at least a plexiglass on the sides of the tracks..and I think he´s right.There wasn´t everything done for safety.OK, they propbably didn´t think about someone flying out on the finishing straight..but this is the olympics..there are lots of competitors from countries that are not experienced like the usual suspect..so you have to reckon.
