ADAM F

Adam F built a stellar reputation in the hiphop world as a musician and a producer upon emerging in the late '90s. Many in the hiphop and rap communities believe he has the potential to become a master producer like Dr. Dre. By age 15, Adam was a fan of of early U.S. hiphop and British electronica acts. His melodic sensibilities were sharpened by his love of Lalo Schifrin, Quincy Jones, Bob James and jazz-fusion in general. Adam developed his skills as a keyboardist and, by the early '90s, he was studying the drum 'n bass foundations of hiphop, electronica and techno. He signed to EMI in the U.K. and his 1998 debut album Colours featured the top 20 hits "Circles," "Brand New Funk" and "Music in My Mind." Colours won a Music of Black Origin (MOBO) award in the U.K. as best album. After an 18-month tour with a live band, Adam proceeded to further trek the globe as a DJ for other artists like Goldie and Jumping Jack Frost. Some of his demos made their way to Def Jam Records, who passed them on to LL Cool J. The rapper immediately loved Adam's tapes, and he had him produce "The G.O.A.T." on 2000's G.O.A.T. Featuring James T. Smith: The Greatest of All Time, his first number one album in the U.S. Soon, Adam started working with the likes of Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott and Lady Luck. Re-focusing on his own career, he spent 18 months recording his 2001 album, KAOS, which includes his own version of "The G.O.A.T." and the anthem "Smash Sumthin'," featuring Redman.

Since his early success in the music inductry Adam has been firmly running his label "Breakbeat Kaos" with some massive releases over the years from artists such as Pendulum, Baron and Nero aswell as Fresh. Alongside running the label Adam has been busy in the studio on his own projects and the latest creation of his to hit the streets very soon is "Shut the lights off" Feat Redman. With ‘Shut The Lights Off’ likely to cement itself into DJ’s boxes for many months to come and sounding like a huge festival anthem for 2010 it’s the start of something very BIG for all involved and as a straight up party starting smash – it couldn’t be much bigger than this. Get ready people, Adam F and Redman are back – blow your horns! As the demand for dubstep is ever increaing the mighty Capsa has done a remix of the tune and this is also sure to be in the record box of the up and coming dubstep scene for months to come.

Adam will be playing the 12 oclock set and will take us into the new year in style with his explosive intros, classic tune selection and wide range of musical genres to really get the party started!! Adam will be literally playing a bit of everything so make sure your in the middle of the dancefloor for this hour of new years madness!

Ray Keith

Ray Keith DJ, Producer, Remixer, Record Label Head Honcho, Radio & TV Presenter and well-known counterpart in the UK and World Wide Music Industry has been on the Dance Music circuit for at least 15 years. Born in the heart of Essex, Colchester, Ray started his career in small venues around Essex, gradually building his name and venturing into bigger clubs around London. After finding his niche within the Drum and Bass music scene in the early 90s he managed to notch up two of the scenes most memorable releases of all time The Renegade Terrorist and The Chopper. Ray set up his record label Dread Recordings in 1994 and hasnt looked back. Now up to it 55th release and a decade later the label is still going strong and has lead to many collaborations with many artists such as Shades Of Rhythm, Moby and Orbital to name a few. Over the years Ray has also kept his ear to the ground by working in Londons most famous record shop, Black Market, making him a good all rounder in the Music business. Previously he has worked on Kiss FM and Radio Ones, 1 in the Jungle radio show but has finally come back to his roots by securing a weekly spot on South East popular radio station Vibe105-108fm and his viewer base is continually expanding. Rays musical taste are from Soul, Funk, Hip Hop and even Classical, these styles have always influenced his dextrous style of production. Making him one versatile individual.

Ray Keith will be playing the set before Adam to warm things up in true style. Expect a big bad set of deep dark drum and bass with some up to date bangers and also an insight into Dreads back cataloge of classics.

*Press Release*
It’s amazing to think it was back in 2001 when Adam F released his flawless ‘KAOS: The Anti-Acoustic Warfare’ album that converted him overnight from UK Drum’n‘Bass/Jungle pioneer into one of the most in-demand Hip Hop producers of his time. That album featured heavyweight vocals from the likes of LL Cool J, Beenie Man, M.O.P, Pharoahe Monch, Guru, De La Soul and Redman, who featured on the now classic ‘Smash Sumthin’ single that went top 5 in the UK charts and gained Adam global fame as one of the most exciting names in Hip Hop. Having stepped out of the limelight in recent years to focus on building his powerhouse Breakbeat Kaos label, which has enjoyed massive success with Pendulum’s platinum selling album ‘Hold Your Colour’, Adam is now back with the new move…
* A key component in Adam’s return with Redman is long-term friend Nick Halkes (aka Horx), the man who launched both XL Recordings and Positiva, signing and most recently A&Ring The Prodigy's million selling return to form ‘Invaders Must Die’, an album on which he enjoys a co-write on the title track and a project which has given him the opportunity to DJ in support of the band at multiple arena dates earlier this year.* When both Adam and Nick started out it was simply “the buzz” of making and releasing music that excited them and it’s this back-to-basics attitude that’s so important to this project. Off the back of their recent remix of The Prodigy’s ‘Take Me To The Hospital’ single, which received plays from Annie Mac and Rob Da Bank at Radio 1, Adam F & Horx now present ‘Shut The Lights Off’. Having united with Redman in Amsterdam to record the vocals the tone was set and with Redman fully on-board to record an album and take it on the road as a live act, it couldn’t be a more exciting prospect for next summer. In fact it was Redman (currently touring with Method Man for their latest Blackout 2 album) who said that in2010 he wants to “get away from the big U.S arenas and get into some dark festival tents with lasers!”
* With ‘Shut The Lights Off’ likely to cement itself into DJ’s boxes for many months to come and sounding like a huge festival anthem for 2010, Redman’s wish will undoubtedly come true. It’s the start of something very BIG for all involved and as a straight up party starting smash – it couldn’t be much bigger than this. Get ready people, Adam F and Redmanare back – blow your horns! Look out for more news on next year’s album and a remix from Caspa very soon.
