Can anyone explain to me in simple terms what they do? Not very good at 'puters and that.
they are a credit card sized computer that isn't very powerful but costs very little and was created as a tool to teach children to program
Its like a usb interface you can wire all types of sensors and such stuff to it, and control sound and lighting through programming software. Pi has its own simple operating system which opens up on your computer
Did Jesus teach you to Pi hmm?
Actually you lot aren't making a lot of sense you mean it's a half formed bit of kit which you have to program to do stuff? How come it's sold so many then it sounds a pain in the butt tbh.
i think it's pretty much plug and play mate, can browse web, word proccess etc...but it's main selling point is it's cheapness, and the fact that it's an open platform for pooter nerds to fuck with in cool ways.
this is what FAQ's are for m8
American pie it
Its a very inexpensive computer that runs a Linux operating system from an SD card. Processing power is very limited as it only runs an ARM 1Ghz processor and has 1GB of RAM. What you buy is what you get as well as there is no room to upgrade components. If you are looking for a very cheap browsing machine that you can plug into any HDMI compatible display then I can definitely recommend it.
Mine looks like this because I'm a raging faget.
CPC sell them cheap as chips too.
no raspberry detective then.
oh yeah shit it goes straight into the monitor. we used arduino's last year so i'm used to them but we have pi projects coming up this year at university so i gotta get my head round it.
i fucking hate programming though.
