Questions for Dj Hype and Alpha Omega

yeah and ask him why he didnt show for a Perth gig in 96, and again in 98. I'm sure he'll remember.

I'm sure he does and I'm sure each occurance has a perfectly good reason. And no I don't expect him to pay me back for him not showing up, but I would like a 30 dollar check from Raymond Francis and whomever was in charge of Sutpans Jungle. Those Sutpans guys were dodgy as hell, that whole party was shut down by the police and they were arrested (kicking and screaming I might add aka resisting arrest)!!!! There was no refund, I even asked the police. They spoke to me like as if it was my fault for giving patronage to a dodgy promoter like as if I knew they were dodgy.

Hype not showing up to a party happened to me twice! The only time Hype actually showed up at a gig in my area was when he played at the Twilo in NYC. I couldn't go because I had the flu. Isn't that great, the one time he actually shows up here I have the flu. Thats the way it goes.

oh dude the one time Ellis Dee ever made it to Australia was Easter 1995 and the promoter sold twice as many tickets as the venue held. I went outside just before he came on and couldnt get back in all night, tripping my bollocks off in the car park with 250 other ravers listening to the bassline and crying inside. I think in different circumstances people may have rushed the door but it didnt reach that kinda critical mass. jungle is always shady as fuck no surprises. I have this hilarious image of you asing cops for a rave refund LOL!!

anyway - threadjackin, sorry.

Ask Hype why the airline lost his bag of records at the airport in a third country after playing three gigs in a row on two days in two countries and he didn't play his full set of dubplates and looked a bit tired and didn't smile?

I was so disappointed!

@ Hype - How much Vinyl do you own.
@ Both - What is your Favourite tune (1988-present)
@ Both - Which piece of Vinyl that YOU own is worth the most, what is it and how much you think its worth.
@ Hype, Do you eat much cause you 1 skinny muther :hotpants:

I notice this isn't sticky anymore. What happened with this? What was the outcome of the interviews?

Will probably persue the Alpha Omega one but I'm not overly fussed about sorting out the Hype one.

old skewl raver here, stopped really going to parties round 98, but have been dragged to a bunch of parties lately...so i ask...

how come every party i go to now a days, it sounds like the same guy has been spinning the same record all night, barely a change up, the breaks sound exactly the same with the same cookie cutter "sinister" sounds?

what happened to real drum and break patterns instead of the same repetitive 100 mile an hour style that seems to be what everyone plays?

i know im not the only one who laughs when ppl try to call what is coming out these days jungle

No your right, I totaly sympathize with you Mr. Jones. Actually though, from what I heard that Revalations 3x12" EP on Hardware isn't bad. I take delivery of that tomorrow at 9:30am via FedEx. That will be my first DnB purchase of the year. Every once in a blue moon something in DnB warms my heart but its become less and less since 2002.

I'm not into whats popular at all, well I never was but most of the producers that were making cool stuff have gone off to make what I would call "crap".

If DnB isn't doing it for you try listening to other new dance music. Techno is pretty good and I actually found out about a Progressive Trance record by Dave Forbes that sounds like 1992 material. House has a new "style" called "Electro house" which sounds like old school LFO tracks on Warp Records (ex: "Put your hands up for detroit"). Just because what your looking at is DnB doesn't mean its going to kick ass, its not the good old days anymore.

im into breaks, progressive, electro, etc, but my true love is jungle from 92-97

the peak of music in my ears,( some amazing stuff coming out nowadays in the other genres), but for those 5 years no other style of music was as good.
the innovation and sheer creativity hasnt been matched in my eyes

Were you being serious or are you picking on the fact that I'm well out of shape?
:dynamite:

Serious man, i thought you would look like the love child of papa smurf and willy wonka being a hardcore nut and all that :teeth: but you are quite normal looking.......... apart from the four eyes, the club foot and the impetigo heheheh :teeth:

EDIT: I did not mean four eyes in terms of your glasses by the way, i was joking, i thought i would clarify after the whole Logikz/Gordo thing, i still love you 1992...........
