Nurtured Beatz are proud to present the first sampler from the forthcoming Quantum Mechanix LP, 'Sonic Battle Weapon'! The duo of Thrash Pilot (Jim Kennedy) and Fractals (Jim Wheatley) have been quietly storming the scene since 2014 with releases for Terabyte, NBAudio, Tesseract and Delta9, and now they follow up 2017's 'Dirty Tricks' EP for Nurtured Beatz with their full length debut for Kalm & Spindall's well-established London imprint.
Album title track 'Sonic Battle Weapon' fronts the sampler, and trust us when we say this is an epic statement of intent. Weighing in at nearly 9 minutes, the track takes the listener on an epic journey through sweeping atmospherics, haunting vocal echoes, helter skelter breakbeats and dark bass modulations. Dangerous enough for the dancefloor but deep enough for any other vibe...
On the flip, tech thumper 'Scars' (released previously on the 'Dirty Tricks' EP) gets a badboy jungle refix courtesy of Genotype. Rolling breaks and deep sub all the way on this one...you know what to expect from one of the longest serving soldiers in the scene.
Keep your eyes peeled for the LP very soon...in the meantime the sampler drops late June exclusively at Bandcamp. Get to know.
