So, are any of you guys working on tracks with some innovative drum beats? All I hear lately is more and more modulated bass, and the same shitty drum beats. Getting bored to fuck of it to be honest. Where's teh creative drumming at?

were doing all kinds of stuff atm, 4x4 beats, halftime beats on chillout-tracks - basically we try our best, haha :D

maybe listen to titanium white and fluidum on our soundcloud ;)

ohh and btw, anyone heard that task horizon tune? locust focused? that is sick imo for new ideas and different patterns. have a listen on youtube fellas.

I can honestly say iv never made a standard kick, snare, kick, snare track lol
Its usually double kicks and snares with some percs for some fills

Back to oldschool back to roots...

to me it's getting more and more polarized: On the other hand I'm longing for those simple and straightforward 2 step beats, on the other hand I want to make more junglistic vibes with mad break action. It's all good.

Oldskulla !!! I try to' make some new Break
with a lil salsa inside .. I put the first attempt
on the new talent section ( IT s a raw and unmasterd
track ) the title is NoReFuge .. Guys let me know
what you think please ..i am from a mobile so sorry
i cant put a link ...
Peace

Ps make wubba wubba bazz is easier than
make a proper well Break with variations and
a good dance vibe in the song..then the bass
is important 2.

i have to agree - as much as mainstream d&b beats have been standardised over the last 10 years, i cant get enough of that minimal head nod at the moment. sick.

One re starting point: all ultimate Break beat collection
(the very very roots ) Are ON sell in iTunes under Various Artis
if you miss (like me ) the lp or th cd. is a good chance to put
our dirty hands ON the virgin Break and try to' see how we chop/cut and
mix today ( obsiouvly my first gift was amen brother)
peace

Amon tobin is still the grandmaster of all beats.

Every album he pushes the boundaries further. Take the track posted in this thread (youtube video). The drums are nice, groovy etc. But Tobin made that type of stuff, and then some, 10 years ago.

I'm tobin drum-aholic.

infact tobin used the very same drum sample. Anyone remember which track?
