Encapsulating the label’s ethos in one track isn’t easy to do, but “Ever Since” seems to be the perfect rock to build this empire on. With an intro that keeps it funky with subtle keys and guitar, the scatter-shot drums lay the base of this cut, dabbling between funky Hip-Hop swagger and intricate Drum & Bass drum edits. That hypnotic vocal sample comes in at the perfect time, causing all of the elements to collide into a truly impressive mixture. With “Something Holdin Me Back”, a very familiar sample kicks things off lushly, and keeps true head-nodding beatnuts wanting more. There aren’t a lot of tracks that marry the chopped breaks and soulful samples as well as Profane has created here, and hopefully we will get more of this interesting mix from a truly gifted producer. <strong>Buy it now at the Digital Wreka MP3 store at ithinkmusic.com.
