anyone tried it? thinking bout having a mandy sesh with my mate and jus makin tunes, could turn out to either be the best thing since internet porn or an abomination of biblical scale

really depends, some make utter shit when they're high and some turn the world around. my advice; do it, listen back to it sober and be honest with yourself, or ask for a second opinion. either way, happy high times to yous!

well there are all kinds of drums outthere! but, which one is good for production its really strange... because each one has its effects that go in your brain...
I've tried lots and diferent ones to produce and I can asure you... the best is weed, but not so mutch too...
cocaine mdma and others make you like what you hear but its allmost an illusion... ANYWAY! :)

used to make tunes high as fuck. since stopping the grade things have begun to get good.

weed makes you delusional in general, so delusional you think your not.

just my experience.

Never have problems producing when I've smoked weed, always do my mastering and mixdown when I'm not baked though...

Making tunes on bud is awesome. I pay extra attention to the sounds trying to get it to sound exactly how I want it.

And mixing on coke is great

Sometimes stoned producing works and I get well into it and other times I'm too stoned and just can't be fucked. Agree with the comment about listening back to everything sober, your ears play tricks on you whilst you're under the influence.

i'm much more productive with my tune writing stoned, same with mixing.

tried writing a tune the morning after LSD but just couldn't.

and had a brief tune writing sesh with a mate after eating a bit of mandy, that was productive as shit, throwing ideas back and forth like mad cunts

It's plenty fun to be sure, but very likely that you'll produce more and better music when sober. There's no shortage of guys who'll tell you how they get mad ideas and inspiration when baked, but then again, inspiration and ideas is only a small part of producing a tune. The rest is tough enough without being confused and forgetting what you were going to do all the time.

If you are drunken or stoned you feel everything deeper and get a other perspective
But I would say stay sober while producing because after producing on drugs for a while you NEED the drugs to produce, because you can't produce without and this destroys yourself i guess...

I used to have to be stoned to mix, now it's the complete opposite, I can still mix when stoned but I find it harder to select tracks and I end up clashing alot more then I give up and turn my decks and mixer off in a huff.

Not really tried my hand at producing properly, but i always mix stoned, not too stoned mind you, theres a point where i get sluggish and lazy and mixes start to slip.

Never tried producing whilst on drugs or anything and despite this I have managed to make some really crazy and strange sounding stuff!

The amount of people that asked how baked I was when I made this is way in double figures -
So personally I don't feel the need. Staying up late at night and being inspired by strange things does the trick for me! :) However, I would like to give it a go after having said that haha

I was mixing Jungle at some party a while back a little under some influence and it was nuts fun, bet producing is the same story!

Edit: i would like to add though, and I don't intend to offend anyone its just my opinion, but if you need to use drugs in order to be inspired to make a tune I think that is just pretty lame...

I'm pretty sure drugs alter your perception of sound.

I've tried making tunes after a night out whilst on MD.
I made something pretty decent but I forgot to save it.

Its kinda funny but it was fucking annoying.

Havnt produced in a couple years and got together with a mate of mine to work on a tune, ended up doing a bit of mandy and got well into it, but we soon got distracted and ended up making a beat out of hitting objects, recording the audio and video and syncing it together lol. We never did go back to the tune!

You're right drugs alter your perception on nearly everything I think even if it is in the most subtle way and you don't even notice it but being a regular stoner I can't really help producing beats when stoned because it is just the norm, don't even really consider it as a difference to be honest, never actually tried producing whilst on anything else probably had a coke in the mix before but never noticed a huge difference. As i stated above the only time I notice weed affecting me is when mixing which is why I no longer enjoy mixing ridiculously cained because it always just goes to shit nowadays which is a shame because I'm normally inspired to mix when stoned. Catch 22. I would like to try making a tune whilst on 2cb because that makes everything sound soooo different and it actually alters your mood when hearing a song, although looking at the screen would be a pain in the ass and I'd no doubt lose concentration within seconds and end up staring at my ceiling for hours.

Yeah I think it alters the frequency response. I'm not sure.
When I'm drunk or fucked I don't feel that I can be as judicious as normal with EQ'ing. Especially within higher frequency areas.
