Basically I'm trying to produce a scratch record for personal use, so I was wondering whether anyone knows where I can get a test press done in the UK.

I think a test press is around 15 copies which I am prepared to pay for so any comments/info would be helpful.

I'd buy one off ya :D

But I have no idea where to get one. Best off checkin' the magazines for ads in the back :p

If ya got some room for a few extra samples, I'll have to dig up some 'impulz' samples!! :D

No problem..its about 70-80% complete at the moment so gonna take a little while. They will hav to be pretty good quality though.

Saying that the prices they've got are pretty good, and it's only an hour and a bit from me....I've mailed um to c whether they is still up n running.

Got a reply from lowliferecords and I got the following quote...

Cutting Lacquers 12" 2 sides £180.00
Processing 2 sides £120.00
20 test pressings £ 30.00
delivery £ 4.80

sub-total £334.80
+ VAT £ 58.59

TOTAL £393.39

Ouch, I thought it was gonna be half that!
If I can drum up some more people to buy one I may go ahead with it, otherwise I'll hav to find a cheaper quote.

gonna start working on this again. Gonna have some dnb drum loops in it this time and some bassline samples.

Also anyone know of anywhere cheaper for pressing vinyl?

Try Transistion Studios
...
They'll cut your laquers for about £130
then go pick 'em up and take em to a big pressing plant such as MPO or AGR and you'll get better value for money

Just got another quote, but processing is gonna vary with the number of 'infinite' samples I hav :/

the processing will be £135.00 (a/b)
20 x tp's £48.00
+ vat and delivery

Looks as though I'm going to hav to get off my ass and sort this out

let me know what kind of stuff you are puttin on it.. i might be interested.
if you are just looking for some good jungle scratch records be sure to check out the n2o jungle tool series (i think they have 4 of em now)...
