Power supply help!!!

Often with equipment like mixers etc the manufacturers perposfully make power supplies with odd voltages.
When the one for my Numark mixer broke I found that it was 10v. You cant get these in any high street stores. There either 9 or 12v. I had to get it from decks.co.uk for £17 instead of about £5 from Maplin

I wonder why a company would do this? On the other hand I tried the original power supply just before I ordered from maplin and the fecking thing worked
could be a lose wire inside but the thing is working.Good to know where to get a supply if/when it does fuck up tho

The only reason I can come up with is for money
Annoying really.decks.co.uk are amazing for anything dj related though.

If you get on http://www.rs.com you will more than likely find exactly what you want, as its specialises in components, always get like for like though, dont get a 12v if you need 10v, i know many people who have made this mistake! It may be a bit pricier on there than maplin, but well worth it for the quality of the products they sell.
