Why do they take sooooooo long to process everything, OK a few months is understandable but my next bail date is 5 months away....meaning I will have been on bail (without being charged) for 9 months after the alleged offence.

Oh well at least I can go on holiday

Nope theres no restrictions, can leave the country and even go to the states, so long as Im back when needed.

Why drag it out though, been speaking to quite a few people in similar circumstances, they got bailed repeatedly - some have gone on for up to 18 months - before police gave up their investigation. Hardly seems fair for someone to have that hanging over them for that long (and worse if they have bail restrictions). Innocent until proven guilty and that, it's not like Im a terrorist!

As for the cause of this mess yeah it's probably due to the high amount of paperwork and bureaucractic work which needs to be done but Im sure some human/managerial incompetence has had some part to play in it. (mabye too busy with their speed cameras FFS)

Yeah it's really not fair how long these things can drag on for, I've got mates who have been on bail for months and months...

Still, if you've got a good brief they'll be straight with you, look at your case, your record etc and will be able to tell you whether you're likely to be charged, and if so what you're likely to get... Means that people who are more than likely gonna go inside for a while can make preparations, make sure their family are gonna be OK whilst they're away and all that, so it can have it's upsides...

Your more than likely get charged, and get 1 of them suspended sentences (think thats what there called) were basically if u get in shit (charged again etc) with the amount of time they give you usually 1 year - 3 years then your FUCKED prision for a while. And if you dont get in shit for that amount of time it goes of your record (there still have like a note that youve been charge for it etc but it WON'T BE ON YOUR RECORD, so wont affect jobs or anythink !!
Otherwise community service like working in charity shops, cleaning of graffiti etc.
I realy doubt there do anythink more, mate got caught with a bar (9oz) of weed had scales in his room and everythink. He got charged with intent to supply but were it was his 1st offence got away with a slap on the wrist and a fuck load of comunity service !!!
