is there some sort of golden rule where the snares must be, cos someones gotta be able to mix it, i know limewax has some crazy snares going on in his trax?

i mean u usually listen to the boom...slap, boomslap ya know.

i really confused

here is wot i made jus a 4 bar

http://www.sendspace.com/file/3hk20x

specially since on bar 2 of 4 it starts with a snare when usually a bassdrum/kick usually is, so if u mixed it with another dnb track with a standard beat wouldnt the snare hit over the other trax bassdrum and it be fucked up?

Like is there a places am bass drum and snare MUST be and places where it defo SHOULDNT be too?

please get bk to me m8, bin wantin to crack on since last night but cant till i know the score really?

Thanks again people

That break sounds fine to me. A lot of the harder Drum and Bass tracks use this drum pattern as well as a lot of old jungle tracks.

Straight up 2 step is: Bassdrum on Step 1 and 11 of a bar. Snare on step 5 and 13.

Steppy drums is: Bassdrum on Step 1 and 7. Snare on step 5 and 11 or 15.

Its all preference though. You could make a break without any snares at all and not even have a bassdrum on step 1.

nowt wrong with that mate
