Ok so sometimes you find yourself booked for a gig where its not really a Drum n Bass friendly crowd, usually the promoter not knowing what the fuck he is doing but yeh... Without playing the whole pendulum/chase and status discography. What tunes will always bang out no matter what the crowd ?

Here are a few ones i thought of

DJ Fresh - Gold Dust/Lassitude/Louder/Hot right now
Kubrak vs Ray Charles - Hit the road Jack
Hometown Glory (High Contrast Remix) - Adele
Ready For The Weekend (High Contrast Remix) - Calvin Harris
    Subfocus - Rock it
    Jade - Pulp Fiction

I've done a couple of these kinda nights ...found them a good laugh to be honest even though they were never to my personal taste

We did a house party recently which I opened with

    Friction & K-Tee - Fired Up
    Shimon - The Shadow Knows

Went off well enough...cheesy vocals normally do it tbh.
I ended up taking a stack of records I never really play and because the crowd was slightly younger they obviously liked the commercial/dancefloor vibes.
Vocals + Dancefloor vibes = happy party-goers (commercial audience anyway)

Just do iwhat you do usually man, surely you've got some tunes that you think a crowd like this will like. But basically listen to Andy C's set at the Hackney weekend and see what he's doing right, I'd just fill it with poppy-dancefloory tunes and makes sure you get a fair amount of vocals in there, doesn't have to be gay remixes, just decent tunes.

Stick to Viper, RAM, recent Playaz releases etc. I'd probably give something like Scavenger a go too just to see the hyped reaction. But I reckon tunes like Sub Zero - Your Flex would go off shnicely.

Haha I've been thinking about doing the exact same thing, i'm trying to make mixes that my mates will listen to for drinks before going out etc, ive stuck a few hazard things in there and it doesn't go down well at all, but I think when you're out its different, a while back I was out in Southampton in an equivalent to Vodka Revs and some Rihanna tune was getting played and then the DJ played Ready or Not Zinc remix, and then dropped Food Fight, I went mad and my mates just acted like any old song was playing, too fucked to notice or care
