I'm looking to upgrade my setup from a 350 & a 400 , looking at 850's , but are 900 or even 2000's worth the extra money ? From very limited use they didn't seem overly different for the price ?

I just had the same dilemma. I ended up going for the 900 s I was tempted with the 2000s but they were slightly too exspensive for me.
Im pretty sure the 850 900 are extremely simular.
The buttons the jog wheel and the pitch are all the same.
There are some good comparison video s on YouTube.
I would link you but I'm writing this from my iPod and I CBa with the hassle :)

900s have slip mode, which personally i think is wicked- (not even 2000s have it).

900s have got nicer screens ( if that matters to you) and the looping function is very good ( i have actually never used an 850, but have heard the looping on them is similar to the 800s)

Personally i would splash out on 2000s - then you'll can get a pretty white LED ring around the platter so that they look cool in the dark!

2000s are well nice i am slightly gutted i couldnt afford them

also, the video doesnt point out that the slip feature works with looping as well, so you can create short loop rolls, rather than loops

Another point is that if you use traktor/serato, they haven't yet mapped out the CDJ850 for midi compatibility
