B. The Maiming of My Shoe

Summit, part of the 2011 vinyl set, sets pace fast with 4/4 sub bass and a break full of snare shuffles, rolls, and hectic rides which are offset with an uplifting, playful vibe. Snippets of jazz samples tie into the second track.
The Maiming of My Shoe starts with sparse piano notes and raw field recordings which sweep into Amen edits. The piece builds with a variety of warm snyths, inharmonic synths, and low-end synths.

Thinking about the components of Pinkerator's tracks, they resemble Drum and Bass more than most of the Pinecone Moonshine releases. But taken as a whole, fractured samples, dissonant harmonies and melodies, distortion, layers and layers of percussion create a dense sound unique to Pinkerator. Absorb the abrasiveness of the first two tracks and then reflect on the uplifting ending to this 3 track release.

A. Fanu - Just a Random Intro About the Misery of Running Out of Peanut Butter
B. Martsman - Vertraut Dir
C. Enjoy - Then No Probs
D. Fada - Run
E. Scale and Acid Lab - Network
F. IJO - Herbie's Talking

In similar tone with Down the Sun, we have a new compilation of tracks that reminds me of hot summers.
Fanu begins with down tempo breaks and finely chopped jazz samples which leads to the free jazz, tribal opening of Martsman's mid tempo, growling piece. Enjoy starts the Drum and Bass set with layered beats, distorted kicks, and a percussive harmony. A sense of urgency leads into a running track by Fada. Scale and Acid lab continue the vibe with sparse effects and samples driven by building break layering. IJO provides an uplifting, fun Jungle tune to close out the set.

Five years ago, I started Pinecone Moonshine with the plan to release concept tracks every couple of months. Life changes and so forth, but I have found myself back at my original plan.
These two tracks were part of an gallery exhibit idea where the pieces were to be fragmented with excerpts of modern media. The full WAV package includes a pdf of additional sketches.
No Truth In Tuning courtesy of Scientific Wax. Kindly Garden Snakes courtesy of Syncopathic Recordings.
Pinecone Moonshine VINYL
Still "All Vinyl is 'Pay What You Want'"
But we are running quite low on PCMS001 Fanu - Brotz /Parallel - Sharpening the Blade. And expect a minimum of two additional records this fall.
