Phrase sequence

I've just started trying to mix drum n bass for fun. I can get my beats matched at get my pitch +/- for each tune. I get the phrases lined up together but is there a 1 2 3 4 sequences in the phrases do you just try and set them up for the big peaks or phrase after any order?

If that doesnt make sence i just nodding in my head rather than counting beats and im clocking the phrases and letting go on them to match.

You can drop the tune every 16 bars (16 x 1 2 3 4), about every 20 seconds to be really technical

bit of a cliché answer but if you get to know all your tunes inside out you will know when to drop it, all tunes are different mate there is a general structure as stated above but not all tunes follow rules

most tunes are 32 or 48 bar intro
64 bar main section (some changes every 16 or 32 bars)
32 sometimes 16 bar middle section
then another 64 bars (changes again)
then and outro somtimes

obviously these can change from track to track
but this seems to be the norm
