I just ordered an iPhone from the carphone warehouse...

Now me and o2 don't exactly have a fantastic history (about 6 years ago I had a contract with them and I lost my job so got in a lot of money trouble with them, BUT it's not on my credit rating anymore)

They sent me an email about an hour ago saying my order is waiting to be processed, so I haven't had full confirmation yet, but they have taken the money for it out of my account....

Does it sound like it's all ok or are they just being twats by taking the money and THEN checking if I'm ok to have one?

Just sounds like regular shit tbh.

They will probably debit you before delivery anyway.

    Nowt to be worried about.

sounds like standard capitalist bullshit, phone companies are the new banks

everything is an 18 month now, if u want 12 you pay through the nose, and they have all these bogus charges for having to pay by card instead of direct debit n shit, and they don't even provide anything, it's just a service, minutes, texts and airtime aren't things a can hold, i can't save them up n sell my collection on ebay, jus invisible magic stuff...

and the salesmen in phoneshops are all such greasy fuckers, using all the salesman techniques like making contact, get ur hands off my shoulder you grubby cunt, i hope u've washed them since u masterbated over ur new bluetooth car kit!

    Never go with Carephone Warehouse.

You get so much less than you would if you went direct to 02.

Agree, I always go direct to the network and get SIM-only contracts as it's so much cheaper and 1 month rolling which is ideal for me as I hate long contracts with a passion.

    Example:
    New Nokia N97 @ £320
    18mths of rolling contract @ £10pm
    Total £500

    New Nokia N97 @ Free
    18mth fixed term contract @ £35
    Total £630

Although I agree the inclusive minutes may be a little more with the 18mth contract, it's not worth it for having to be tied down in my eyes.
