Ingredients Records was launched in July 2009 by Clive aka Dj Psylence.Having been into the whole scene since the early days of 1991, raving to Ltj Bukem, Carl Cox, Hype, Fabio & Grooverider, Randall & Mickey Finn, then moving to london & attending the seminal Speed nights in the West End, as well as the first Metalheadz Sunday sessions in 1995, his experience of this genre was well equipped for the future. After playing on Pirate radio for 4 years & djing in and around london for 10 years, he decided the time was right to launch a label.Alongside signing more established Artists, Psylence wanted the label to be a home for new unsigned Artists too. As a unique twist to the label, he decided to get each artist to submit a recipe of their favourite dish, to give away free with the record. The label kicked off with Newcastles Sato with his track Barn & this featured a remix from the legend that is Break. This projected the label from the off & soon after came a massive tune in the shape of The Path from Jubei. This was Jubeis first solo release and not long after he was snapped up by Metalheadz. His co-lab with Cern on the flip proved to be a solid 12" for Ingredients. The third release came from longtime friend Spirit & by now the label was on the map. Sato delivered recipe004 with the Hospital Records supported Turning Point, then came the unknown but highly talented Mode from Manchester. His debut Stats was a stunning launch to his career. Up stepped Renegade Hardwares Phobia for recipe006 with his monster Clean Break. Then along came Skeptical, another unknown but with lots of promise & he debuted with Transfer for recipe007. Mode featured for recipe008 & jungle veteran Dub One hit the ground running with Wray for recipe009. Since then the label is now known for it's cutting edge roster & excellent food ideas!
