OUTCAST EP
MAINFRAME RECORDINGS
Cat: MFR002EP
Released: 4th February 2011
Available on Vinyl & Digital Download

A. Fred V & Grafix – One Of These Days
B. Heist & Haddow – Inner Being
C. The Prototypes - Outcast
D. BTK & Resound – No Mess

Continuing into 2011 the way they left off 2010, Mainframe have yet another
huge drum & bass rollercoaster of a release to unleash in the form of the
‘Outcast’ EP. Four heavy-hitting tracks from some of the scene’s finest producers
are what await eager listeners on this one.

First up Fred V & Grafix give you an early taste of summer with some choice
liquid flavours. Smooth sampling and open, inviting beats are balanced with a
bassline so warm you could lay out a picnic blanket and bask in it.

Heist takes a break from engineering for D&B legend (and star of just about any
reality TV show going, we still love you, Clifford…) Goldie and instead teams up
with close friend Haddow for some stonking dancefloor business. Easing you in
with Metalheadz style vibes and then flipping the track on its head for the drop.
Deadly!

The Prototypes follow up their Radio 1 anthem ‘Cascade’ by dropping another
immense track for Mainframe. ‘Outcast’ is a little rougher round the edges than
their previous radio-friendly piece, but undeniably strong on the dancefloor.
Trademark tight beats marry with spaceship alert signal bass to create a huge
slice of D&B.

Finishing things off in style, Brazilian BTK links up with Resound for ‘No Mess’, a
track packed with intense machine paranoia. Synthetic bleeps and whirls roll
round and round while breathy spoken word vocals set the tone for a deeply
disturbing ride.

This is yet another unmissable release from Mainframe, a label set to achieve
even more this year than they did in 2010.

not that amazed, prototypes tune is okay, that heist tune is not one of my kind, BTK can do better and that fred v/grafix stuff sounds all the same imo
