Oni Records was founded in July 2006 by Ross Dutton (The DJ "Feedback" from Backspacer) as a way to push forward music he feels should be released for the masses to hear and play.

The release schedule isn't like other labels in the fact that it will be releasing all styles of DrumN'Bass from the chilled, to the deep and funky and to the dark hard hitting dancefloor smashing styles.

Oni has searched around for some of the best up and coming artists and decided to put their music to the test for the world to hear.

Oni Records NZ's music is initially being distributed via trax2burn.com beginning in October 2006. Other distributors may follow.

The first release is a collaboration between Canadian artist "Nitrous" and American artist "Scandal" (AKA: B-Dub).

A straight up dancefloor smasher with fast paced but crunchy hectic drums, loud winding bass and nightmarish sfx. A surefire hit on the dancefloor.

Not the last you'll see of Nitrous as he is currently working on a track exclusively pitched at Oni. Watch This Space.

The second release from the Oni Records camp is a solo effort by New Zealander "Sick Cycle".

An epic orchestral opening leading into a war littered, rolling bassline. Deep and dark but also melodic, something a little different.

The third release for Oni is from the alter ego of New Zealand downbeat producer Benny Tones (AKA: Organiks/DJ Cycle).

A bit of a change up in the style of releases. Techy drum elements combined with an entrancing warm funky bassline. A truly epic tune from Organiks.

What does the future hold for Oni? Plans include CD releases and possibly a vinyl single or EP release of the labels biggest tunes, along with digital releases every couple of weeks of the hottest tunes from the hottest up and coming artists.

New artists are being signed constantly, of all styles of DrumN'Bass.

This is just the very beginning.
