LOL, matt, no one is going to nit pick - I didn't comment when you first posted cause I don't like the vibe - it makes me feel like I'm on acid in the bad way. The snare has long release in the high frequencies - I like your tighter stuff more where the "glitch of it all", what I call "micro rhythms" are more apparent - this one is a head banger but sooooooooo DARK. For me, it's either soulful, neuro, or tech - so I'd say if you have a smacking snare, give 'er a smacking kick and call it tech! I live for simplicity.

It's another well produced complicated track and it's approaching that minimal style that all you UK people seem to be so keen on in here.

    Enlighten me.

    easy,

@ Lucider - LOL, cheers for the comments man...i get what you're saying about this being more dark, but in the end finding a specific style or vibe is a long process of trial and error and to get to a point where your tracks all have a consistent sound you need to try out different shit! On this one i was deliberately going for a banger, not so much micro perc and little details flying around, but more of a straight one.
I agree that simplicity is the key, always... in my world though, darkness is a major ingredient as well. Not saying that i dont like soulful stuff (im a jazz pianist!!) but when it comes to dnb, i like it deep and dark.

Not sure if i've enlightened you here, maybe my next production will

..oh and i'm Danish btw ;)

@Nusphere/Kdance - thanks for the comments, glad you like it! maybe I should have a look at the intro and see if i can make something a little bit more 'catchy' so i keeps you interested from the very start!

    peace

stereo spread is nice in the intro, i like the little crunchy beat that slides in. wow, the drop wasn't what i was expecting. i think the snare is a little splashy for me, but this is a really solid sounding tune. the percussion here is really cool, tons of stuff happening everywhere yet all quite clear. i like it a lot.

wtf danish, you can't BE a pastry AND make dnb

also, Europeans shouldn't be allowed to play jazz. Every american can play jazz. If you guys didn't play jazz we'd have jobs playing for your noblemen...but no, they have to listen to your tinny-ass jazz yodel waltz jigs.

This is what europeans playing jazz sounds like AFAIK:

And don't get me started on the french. What are they on these days!?!?!

The percussion is spot on and the drums as a whole sound big and full. And the bass is just...wow. I'm very impressed with the levels, everything sounds in it's own proper "space" in the mix.

I'll agree with Lucider in that this track is super dark, but that's how I like it...now excuse me while the talking donut and I go talk politics outside of a McDonald's that strangely enough looks like a large tree covered in smurfs.

    Cheers.

Very nice track, i expected some pretty badass stuff from the intro and i got it, but the drums kinda disappointed me(sorry to say that, probably just my taste). Everything else is top notch imo. The bassline is really good.
