I saw one of these the other day one of my work mates was banging on about it, they do look pretty damn good & I think with technology moving the way it is it won't be to long before these get installed into the clubs. Think about it no more messy cables, no more broken needles, no more heavy bag carrying the plus points are enough to warrant a look but there are alot of downsides to the iPod mixer, what happens if your iPod decides to go into shutdown mode or you forget to charge it up before you get to the club for your set??? Also does the mixer have a pitch control as i can't see one?

No pitch control. Forget about it.

The way forward currently are cd decks that can play cds, mp3 and wma with pitch, moving platters and effects. I played a gig once with only 2 cds with mp3 files (granted I was playing cheese :)

Despite no cables and no heavy bags...I'd much rather spin vinyl than MP3s or even CDs.

Me 2 man agreed technology has to move forward but there's nothing more satisfying than the vinyl. I would like a CD deck to go with my 1210's but there still to pricey IMO

It looks like it's more for the wedding disco DJs that anyone else.

yeah man but its still a gimmick, or perhaps a trinket.
fair en0ugh, theres a whole new generation of ipod users out there who just want to vibe off the fact they own ipods ie. pod parties, ipod club nights, etc. Its for them I guess.

The Ipod mixer is a gimmicky piece of shit.

The CDX and HDX are serious professional pieces of equipment that vinyl has nothing on.
