i agree. i have a tv but i can only get a few channels and i barely watch it. i NEVER watch the news anymore. if i want to know about something, i'll go and find out about it in other ways.

the only thing i try to regularly watch is Murder, She Wrote. yeah, i'm a sad sack.

I watch only films and quality serials (Deadwood, Sopranos, Rome) on HBO.

I utterly can't stand the rest.

I was without a TV for years when I was studying the 1st time and didn't miss it.

(Though it was Filmmaking I was studying, and I got free cinema tickets and watched about 10 films a week on the big screen...Miss them free tickets).

Mainly watch Coronation Street (to remind me of home, the North) and quality (often HBO) dramas...And the odd documentary...

Don't watch too much, haven't watched BB for years. Wouldn't want to say goodbye altogether.

Looking forwards to getting FilmFour on Freeview this month...

The Wire, The Shield, Scrubs, Futurama, Family Guy, Simpsons.

thats it, lost interest in BB some time ago, I know it was sad to like it but I couldnt help it. I am a media junkie, and I also studied film and cultural theory at uni, and worked in journalism for five years. It was my job to know exactly what was happening on TV news for 4 years, and it does wear you down.
I stopped following Aus politics after our last election:rinsed: , so no need to watch the TV news anymore.
Personally I find being away from internet, papers and radio relaxing, it means I'm really switched off. I think thats why my Queensland holiday was so relaxing.

I don't have a TV (well I have one in the attic), but I do watch the odd program on the TV downstairs! I also download some TV programs to watch on my computer - LOST or Green Wing for example!
