noob question

i got an old MIDI keyboard from a mate to help with my production. Ive doen a bit research and it seems id be able to plug this in from a MIDI port to a USB on my pc thing is though this keyboard is quite old and im not sure if MIDI ports are all the same because this one looks bigger than others in photos on net.

any help apreciated

well you could have mentioned that you need a cable....

no midi is midi is midi, so dont worry about that. it used to be you could plug your midi into the joystick port long long ago, dont know if thats still possible

sorry noob to this forum type thing... what im trying to say is

is there different types of midi ports like old and new and if this is an old port will it work on usb

ps not purchased cable yet

its just onboard sound so no joystick port but that answers my question i just had an idea in head that there was old MIDI new MIDI somehow.

ill go ahead and try the MIDI to USB see if i can get it going... thanx
