you realize how parodical and sacastic that picture is, and the whole beastie boys concept is? at the same time nothing cooler than some old bullshit and ill communication, the video for whatcha want made me want to walk through the forrest and rap for days when i first saw it and sabotage made me grow sideburns. beastie boys, the perfect balance, they played afro jazz on their albums when most of you was watching michael bolton on some godforsaken tv channel

haven't seen the sig but beastie boys are one of my favorite bands ever. mix master mike got me into DJing... when I heard '3 MCs and 1 DJ' my mind was blown. they're amazing live, too.

the first band i saw live. not only do they go from rap to funk to jazz but they're all multi-instrumentalists as well. talent in abundance.

I must say that I have them as my sig because they've been a massive inspiration to me. They're one of the reasons that I got into music production. I may not have been there when they were starting out, but they are a big part of the music side of my life now. Their songs that have been sampled progressed me further to make beats out of songs from genres that I would have never had thought of to sample. They have really opened my eyes when it comes to production and shown me that there are really no boundaries. And for that, I thank them (and MixMaster Mike of course)
