    who's films do you prefer?

personally i enjoy watching Nick love's films more because i love how "cool" all the characters and settings are in his films
how cool is Bex in his re-make of "the firm"?, saying that, i could just be biased because i love all the 80's casual scene, so the clothes alone in "The Firm" and "The Business" sold the films to me!

but Shane meadows knows how to tell a good story!

both in ther own right are brilliant Brittish directors, 10 times better than anything that idiot Guy Richie makes.....

Meadows hands down, It's nice to have some characters that are actually believeable instead of ott, charactourizations.

    Hehehehehe.

I'm actually with Fortune on the whole believable character thing, Meadows defo roles with alot of stereotypes, but I think that is done on purpose & used to a good advantage to create the direction he wants the film to travel...

But I just love the style & plot/script direction with his films, find them spellbinding, sounds wierd, but almost like a gritty Disney fairytale in the way it keeps me glued.

i know exactly what you are saying. and i 100% agree. if i wanna watch a proper film, ill watch a shane meadows film.
u cant beat some of the lines in football factory/the firm/the business tho.

ther is only two British films i enjoy more than these two's films tho, and that Quadrophenia and Scum.

Nick Love has just made the same film over and over again. Football Factory was alright....The Business was laughable and The Firm is just Football Factory in the 80's.

Shane Meadows films have a bit more depth and substance.Plus, the scene in Dead Man Shoes where Paddy Considine's character chats to the bloke who killed in his brother in the street is one of the best scenes in british cinema

I like Nick Love and have only seen 1 Shane Meadows film (This is England)
Nick Loves films do have a certain cheap feeling about them, but definitely enjoyable, will have to watch some more shane meadows films

    From What I have seen
This is England is ten times better than any of Nick Loves films, I did enjoy the business a lot though
