Nice gain type of distortion?

Hey guys,

Just after watching that Icicle master class, was probably the best one I've seen so far! Especially for someone like me - who's still wet behind the ears. :)

Anyhoo, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a nice "gain type" of distortion vst . I liked the one Icicle was using in Logic, that sounded very cool, But unfortuntely I don't use Logic. :(

Some of my vst distortions sound pretty digital and don't have that nice clean but heavy overdriven sound.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Rob.

Thanks man, I have Ohmicide/Camelphat and they are friggin' cool, but it's a lil' bit harsh at times.

Anything else worth checking out for trying to capture that "mackie desk" type gain?

Cheers,

Rob.

Soundtoys Decapitator is awesome, sounds like something you'd be interested in. Its got 5 model types at the bottom of the vst, the last 2 being modelled on the Culture Vulture, very cool!
