i play drums. if u dnt wanna or cant get lessons i think most things r based around u playing the basic beat where u tap the hi hat at a certain tempo 4 times. and loop that over and on the 1st tap of the hi hat u hit the bass drum aswell . and on the 3rd hi hat tap u hit the snare aswell. and loop that over. thats the basic beat. learn that and u gradually increase and experiment around it and u get better n better. listen to alot of down tempo music to get the idea of the beat and to discover with varaitions.

as of getting a drum kit.. pfft they can be expensive. yes u can buy cheap pads but if ur gonna take it up seriously u might as well get a nice accoustic kit. yes, they can be expensive.

waaaaaaaaah such an old clip! still amazing tho :)

been playing drums for about 7/8 years (if playing one time/months counts).. learned with a friend during 6months and then I learned all by myself by listening to metaaaaaaaal etc etc..

buy drums magazine too, in France I got a magazine where theres always a cd with lots of different rythms where they explain etc etc..
