what, does it say its from the mailer deamon then? hrm.. that may be not so good then
 
So how does the virus get into your machine, just from opening the dodgy email? Or do you have to d/l something from the email?

Depends on your e-mail client. For example a lot of people use the 'preview pane' in Outlook/Outlook Express. This will automatically execute most types of attachment when you view the e-mail.

I would suggest turning that off for a start.

It's usually people that don't know any better that get caught, for example it'll look like an e-mail from a friend or a respected company, they'll open the attachment which will be a screensaver or a word document. When it opens it will look like it's meant too, but it will also install a virus or trojan onto your computer without you knowing.

That's when the problems begin..
 
Sweet, so as long as I dont open any dodgy looking emails/attachments I should be ok? I usually just delete them without opening them anyway.
 
its a program that infects ur computer, like a simple virus, but with better encoding, i think. leaves u open for anything.

this is one proper nasty worm, but it hasnt struck the way they were saying, "internet to be crippled by tuesday night" :moe:

I use preview window with Outlook and it hasnt bitten me yet .. I think.
Anyway, burn all unfamiliar email and you'll be right.

its like a program that lets somebody else connect to your pc and do whatever they want...
they send you the trojan which is like a server, then they connect to the trojan using a client, and do whatever the fuck they want to your pc... delete shit, freeze your pc, open webpages, put on more viruses, steal files off your pc, turn off your screen, turn on your printer, print shit out.... etc etc

the virus is well dodgy,it attached itself to my email i sent myself last night and the yahoo virus top bods got to it first and blocked it.watch out!!!!! the tiitle of the email says spoof
 
thanx for the warning peoples ive got norton on mine so hopefully will be safe.why do wankers that want to destroy pcs exist surely they must have something a bit better to do with their lives :gun:
 
I think some of them have radical political agendas as well, like proving how dodgy microsoft can be.. and the fact it fucks with everyone so easy is their point.
