Hey guys i'm only recently after getting in DNB and i want to get started making some of my own beats. But before i do that i want to get a decent soundcard. I'm a guitarist and some of my friends were saying that m audio are a great choice. So i've looked at a few and they seem decent but the prob is i'm not sure which one to pick, some have similar specs but with very different prices. Here's an example of what i've been looking at so far, http://www.thomann.de/ie/maudio_delta_audiophile_192.htm http://www.thomann.de/ie/m-audio_delta_audiophile_2496.htm So can someone recommand a decent soundcard, i'm not to pushed on price once it's lower than 200.
i love my edirol ua-25ex. everything you need to start off with, and very stable drivers. theres also the Ua 101 with more in/outs, but its over £300. plus, there's firewire versions for both of them, so pick your choice!
Ez mate. There's an endless amount of choice when choosing an audio interface. Personally i dont see why you are going for an internal, when an external is so much less hassle. Anyway here's a site with loadz to look at. Iv'e used this site and there fine... Go for a USB or Firewire, whatever takes you fancy..... http://www.imuso.co.uk/Studio/Processing/Audio-MIDI-Interfaces
I had bought this one for guitar recording, http://www.imuso.co.uk/Studio/Proce...faces/8912-/E-MU-0202-USB-2-0-Audio-Interface But it really sucked. So i thought maybe buying a soundcard might help improve the external interface?
you may be a bit confused. a soundcard may come with or without an external interface. the edirols i mentioned connect to the pc with just a usb or firewire cable. the m audio 2496 is just a PCI card with the in/outs at the back of the pc. and then you have other PCI ones with an external interface, like the m audio delta 44.
U dont need an internal & external, just one or the other mate.... I use the E-MU 0404 USB and its red hot... Have a look at this Focusrite model if u wanna get serious Here's a review for it.. Do ya research mate and have a good look around, read reviews etc... like Gordo said its really up to u....
^ cheers for the help it sounds good! I've the model down, the E-MU 0202 USB 2.0 Audio Interface. But i tried using it for recording guitar into the pc about two years ago and it sounded awful. Very poor quality and annoying latency issues. So i guess maybe i just screwed up when setting up the drivers or something. I'll try installing it again tomorrow. Btw cheers for all the advice, good to know i don't have to waste money on things i don't need
Hope you don't mind me chiming in here... I've been having some problems with my crapola Vista sound Blaster X-fi. So just checking this thread I would like to get my mitts on an external card. But how would that effect my internal SB card. Would I just put it out of the cashe, or would the external just disable it? Thanks!
its not an issue, you can have 23 soundcards installed if you want, you just have to configure the programs how you want it. many years ago i couldnt figure out how to get rid of the feedback in my setup so i played the sounds from one soundcard and recorded them on another. it was the only way to get around that problem at the time. but i blew the other soundcard up and pretty soon i had to rtfm.
e-mu 1616e, m-audio delta 1010 (also available in light format, called 1010LT but thats internal). these are available 2nd hand for very good prices
Focusrite ftw! http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/42201-focusrite-saffire-6-usb.html thats a cheaper version of the one previously linked havnt really used them but not herd anything bad about them. and there ment to be like the bees knees.
