Hey everyone, good to be on the forum! I'm a younger guy (born 1991) and have recently gotten into Jungle. I DJ Garage/Grime/HalfStep/Dubstep but I really love the chaotic nature of the amen break. Just picked up a copy of ShyFX Old School Jungle album and it's great. But it's hard to find any straight up info about 90's Jungle/DnB via Google.

So my question is: What are some definitive DJs of that era? Even further what compilations would you suggest as finding all this on wax is REALLY DIFFICULT.

TL;DR
I'm curious as to what jungle DJs were/still big names and what Compilations could you suggest?

dj wise mate kenny ken, jack frost, grooverider, micky finn etc were the dons of the jungle era as for tunes check out people like dillinja , remarc , lemon d , and anything from awol / roast etc ;)

What are some definitive DJs of that era?

Ron, SL, SS, Kenny Ken, Hype..the obvious ones, list could go on.

Even further what compilations would you suggest as finding all this on wax is REALLY DIFFICULT.

Hey man im also a "young-en" into the Oldskool Hardcore Jungle stuff! Personally I love the "intelligent" sound of Jungle. like Liquid back in 1993. XD

Heres probably my most recommended Jungle tune!

For artists ide say Bizzy B is one of the most mental producers from back in the day... Amen Breaks, Mentazms, Fancy little noises! Its all there!

If you want more tunes like this just PM me mate! I got plenty! (yn)

There are very good documentaries on YouTube about Jungle in the early 90s. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jd2Lr7C0nc

On german there is "London Jungle" on YouTube. And on www.goldenerajungle.com (register for free) are a lot of oldskool mixtapes from the golden era. Famous DJs/Producers from this era are LTJ Bukem (his Label is relaunching this summer), Doc Scott, DJ Hype, DJ Zinc, Shy FX, Kenny Ken, Mickey Finn, Nicky Blackmarket, DJ Dread, Source Direct, 4 Hero etc.
