Im sure you'll all be happy to hear the man that is Photek is back with his new EP dropping early next year, but don't get to excited, as it seems to be lacking that all important drum and bass element. The three tracks I've managed to listen to are '101','Avalanche' and 'Slowburn', none of which have a scent of that D'n'B tempo we all love. Hopefully he's got something else in store for us not yet publicised, but it isn't looking good. Obviously the tracks are all impeccably produced and are pretty cool, and I've got to acknowledge that it's his music and his career and he must do what he wants with it, but to be honest I was expecting more from the man (imo) that practically gave birth to today's D'n'B sound. I havn't managed to find the track 'This City' to listen to yet, so anybody that has heard it, let us know.

Fucking love 101 and Slowburn, not really feeling Avalanche. Maybe it'll grow on me, just surprisingly generic for a Photek tune. Looking forward to hearing This City. Really can't say I'm bothered that they're not 174bpm.
