New Needles

Just about to put new needles on my decks. Ortofon OM Pro S to be precise.

Whats the best thing to do when using needles for the first time? I heard that heavy mixing is not recommended, so should i dig out some rarely used vinyl and play them a couple times to wear the tips in abit?

Just got two new M44g needles today, just use them as normal i would have thought / make sure their still weighted properly etc

doesn't really matter to be honest. Shure say you should leave them over night to get them bent a little bit and unstiffen them from the factory, only really nesaccary if you're planning on scratching, doesn't affect sound quality
