New needles, but having some probs

My new decks (which were used btw) just arrived and so have my new Ortofon Pro S needles. I adjusted the weight of the tonearm for both and one work works perfectly. However, when I went to pick up the other it seemed a bit different, more like it was rusty or something. Whenever I put it on a vinyl it mostly just loops or skips, and is pretty annoying. Is this a problem from the tonearm or the needles? cheers

To elaborate, the tonearm bearing is probably too tight. On the top of the tonearm pivot there is a screw inside another screw. You need to loosen the outside screw (I think?) slightly. If that doesn't do it it could be the tonearm wiring getting snagged on something.

be careful with that. fractions of centimetres make all the difference.

lol i just kind of rushed in there with a screwdriver on my hand and was probably lucky enough to be precise haha
