After nearly two years releasing quality Vinyl and MP3s from established and newcomer artists,
BIOS now takes things a step further with this: an inspiring and fresh compilation featuring various producers from around the globe.....
CD1 contains 13 exclusive, quality BIOS cuts that are already turning heads and moving feet across dancefloors. From the transatlantic teamup between DAN MARSHALL and MIXMASTER DOC on the epic "EXODUS" (already a firm favorite with HIGH CONTRAST, MARKY, and LYNX), to Slovakian wunderkind DECEM's beautifully-rolling "DON'T SLEEP" (caned worldwide by LTJ Bukem), this unmixed CD has something special for all DnB fans. MUNK's "CIRCLES OF HELL' and BIONIC1's "FROZEN LIQUID" hit more rough-and-rugged territories, while SUBMORPHICS' "LOVE IS GONE" and STEREOTYPE's "SAY YES" successfully cover the smoother end of the spectrum. Further excellent creations from PRIME 8, SQUASH, GENERIC, CAMO, SUBZ, KROOKED, BMK, CODA, FLACO, and NAIBU round out this fantastic unmixed compilation geared towards both digital DJs and home listeners alike.
Moving over to CD 2, we find an expertly-crafted and exciting mix from none other than BIOS label owner and founder AMANING. Hosted by MC LOWQUI (Metalheadz resident MC), the hour-plus journey finds many of the tracks from the unmixed side as well as exclusives from some of the scene's heavyweights. LOXY and MATT-U join forces on "'DARK NIGHTS," NU:TONE and LYNX combine talents on "EAST TO WEST," and RANDOM MOVEMENT steps forth with the deep and brooding "LESSON AND AFTERMATH." Topped off with superb tracks from the likes of SYNCOPIX, BLAME, BLOCKS, WHIZZ, DAZE, and AMANING himself, this debut mix (the first in a series, with many guest selectors to come in the future) illustrates what the BIOS label is all about: quality through diversity. BIOS: In 2006, Tom Amaning launched the BIOS imprint to showcase quality and creativity within the fast-paced, ever-changing world of Drum&Bass. Since the label’s inception, one thing that has not changed though is Amaning’s clear and consistent vision to bring the very best new world talent to the forefront and also highlight tracks that work on the dancefloor. With his debut mix for the label (the first in a series), Amaning successfully connects all the points between smooth rollers and rough smashers. In companion to the mix, a DJ-friendly unmixed CD packed with exclusives is also included.
