Yo. I'm doing my first neurofunk beat. But I need some ideas. I'm really not that familiar with this kind of d&b, and I've been listening to some Lifted Music and fresh darkstep/neuro to perceive my mind. But still I'm stuck.

Regularly, what kind of FX and sounds are typical for neurofunk? What would YOU say that this tune lacks? This is only a start, a kickoff. I know it needs alot of more stuff, with more variation.

I know it should be 'bit chromatic, w/o much of a lead, more like hits and crap. But it's difficult to apply imho.

Any tips, my twostepping brothers and sisters?

drums sound weak, and that vocal is cool in a way, but too random as of yet. maybe try to put in some reggae kinda samples? and maybe twisting a dub bass and coming up with a second bass sound could be good.

finish it!

LIFTED MUSIC!! ;D
I like the main synth, bass is good 2, but your drums should be waaaay louder.
Do that and you'll have a awesome tune :)
i'm not a specialist at all, but in neurofunk, these little percussion effects with a lot of reverb & delay seem to work quite well.

your snare is letting you down mostly, after you find a decent FAT snare that has some punch then you need to start filling out the beat, your beat is real flimsy at the moment, needs hi hats, rides, percussion, but when you make all of them u need to edit them by volume so they dont stick out, and start to use EQ when u get further into it. just experiment trying to fill out the beat more and getting a fatter snare with a bit more punch

good start tho mate keep at it

The Bass is rude :)and the automation on it is excellent but it's overbearing in the mix... your drums are 'way' too far in the background to be effective (redo the mixdown with that in mind).

Also, the Bass could do with more variation on the notes imo.

The sequencing of the drums is too manic for my tastes... and as hectic as the automation on your Bass is, it could benefit from some kind of hyper leadwork running alongside it.
