Drum & bass / dubstep duo Nero are teaming up with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra to perform a new commissioned piece titled Dubstep Symphony. The performance will be simulcast live on Monday June 6th from 7pm across BBC Radio 1 & BBC Radio 1Xtra and co-hosted by Zane Lowe and Mistajam.

Alongside the live simulcast, listeners will have the opportunity to visualise Dubstep Symphony through a live stream on the BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra websites plus a behind the scenes documentary (broadcast on air in sound, and online with visuals) of how Nero set about the biggest creative and musical challenge of their careers.

"We feel so privileged to be given this opportunity - we're both massive fans of classical music so working with an orchestra on this level is amazing," say Nero. We're really excited and to be honest kind of scared!"

Nero is collaborating with Joe Duddell on Dubstep Symphony, a composer who orchestrated and conducted Elbow & The Hallé for Manchester International Festival in 2009 at Bridgewater Hall. Joe will be conducting the Nero / BBC Philharmonic Orchestra performance and is currently Reader in Music at Salford University.

Nero fans have the opportunity to apply for a limited number of audience tickets to watch the performance. Tickets are free and will be allocated in a random draw. Registration takes place from Tuesday 10 May at midday and will close on Wednesday 18 May at midday. For more details on how to apply click here.

Dubstep Symphony kicks off Dubstep Week on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Other highlights throughout the week will include nightly guest mixes, scene leader contributions and plans for a special Live Lounge.

I thought that one you posted was pretty crap, seen it before they didn't get it right and the vocals were poor imo. The Nero one has just been on live and it is next level compared to this.. Check it out.

Excuse me..but where was the dubstep in this "symphony"? I can´t understand any excitement about this. Was just some classic instruments and two dudes behind a computer pretending to add noises :teeth:

Dubstep is like that child born missing a limb and severe mental defects but everyone pretends to like him because they feel sorry for it

And throwing it in a bin isnt really an option
