Nero - Do You Wanna?

thats probly because it has a 12/8 rhythm like timewarp... everything that is 12/8 sounds a bit like timewarp.. it has influenced alot of good music of late, but obviously was itself influenced by bodyrock which was the first 12/8 dnb beat (so ahead of its time!)

nice

cummon tim when is this gonna drop u cant say late summer cos that cud be anytime!
Ya man Timewarp definitely influenced a load of songs since then, but like you said all goes back to Shim & Andy with Body Rock.

Hold tight for this, no set date yet. The album is still in the works and it's still gonna be a while... most likely "late summer" :D

This is going to be a big release. One that I have on my list to purchase. I hope this project is a big success for the label

This is a mega tune, loving it. Their recent dubstep tunes are serious as well, Nero stepping up at the mo.

It's 6/8, not 12/8, same with Timewarp - don't evercomplicate things!

More musical bullshit - the best thing about it is that it never hits the root with the bassline - hits the sixth for the first eight bars and the fourth for the second eight. You're dying for it to resolve back to the root and it never does. If you want to mix it in, it's in A minor.

Always liked Nero after that Dick Tracy release, so creative and always busting out good releases! Except Energy VIP lol!

BIG TUNE!

im pretty sure its 12/8

6/8 wud mean theres only 6 quavers in a bar. so to crudly put it it wud only go tu-ku-tu, tu-ku-tu, in a bar but this wudnt match up with what makes a full bar.

i.e. if u took a regular dnb 1 bar break and 1 6/8 bar of timewarp or do u wanna u will see that with 6/8 its only half a bar.

all these type tunes have 4 beats (not 2 like what your attempting to suggest) to a bar like any other track just the 4 beats r split into 4 groups 3 quavers (not 2 groups of 3)

theyre basically the same thing like 4/4 and 2/4 just the length of bars is wrong by ur explination.

You're very close to correct Wizz, and 12/8 and 6/8 are functionally the same, as you say, but a bar/round for dance music is generally the length of the drum loop, in this case:

BASS-ku-tu-SNARE-ku-tu

You can repeat that once and make it 12 counts if you wish and call that a bar, but I prefer 1 drum loop = 1 'bar'.

You're right that standard DnB doesn't match up with this though, because it's not two identical bars like Timewarp or Do You Wanna - you need two snares' worth to get a full loop of 4/4 DnB.

hmmm... yer i spose it is just splitting hairs on what you call a bar when the tempo is as fast as dnb. i just read in a magazine that body rock was the first dnb tune to incorperate a 12/8 rhythm n it stuck with me from tht.

still sick effect...

Actually that IS musical bullshit...

The bass notes in the second four bars after the drop are hitting the note A (the root note)!!

Just had to say something....
