first of all im pretty dumb when it comes to computers and computer talk so explain it to me asif i were a dummy.

i want to convert an hour long set for example into say 20 seperate tracks.... my car stereo is pretty shit and when i switch the engine off the cd doesnt restart from the same spot when i switch it back on.

had a quick look on google for an explanation how to do it but it all looked complicated

What you want to do is burn the whole set (as a single file) onto 1 CD.

Then you need to eject it, and smash it up with a brick. Try to make each of the shards about equal in size, and as you said - go for about 20.

Then just duct tape it back together, stick it back in and you're laughin!

Download Audacity (it's free)
Load the Wave form in that.
Press the M key to make a marker.
Save the individual markers in order.

That should work, but I don't use audacity so, godspeed.
