i am realy new to all this. i am using ableton 7 and have my breakbeat all layed out in midi but want to get more into the chopy stuttering aspect say like squarepusher and many others. i know how to use beat repeat but was wondering if thers a better way to do this. if any one has any advice or can guide me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it.

One way would be to use dblue glitch or Lucifer (or combinations of the two.

hello mate... i make all my tunes ni ableton, it's fooking sick!
What i would suggest you do is drop 'breaks' and/or 'beats' into an audio track and cut them up in there using the envelope.
Ok, easiest way is to double click on the clip in the track, should now show the waveform. there should be a little capital E in the bootom left, click on it to bring up the envelope editor.
Click on 'volume', and then using the pencil tool and the selection tool you can automate it to get that realy cut up choppy sound!
