Hi all.

First production tip from me on my brand-new YouTube channel. This one focuses on what plugins I use on my drum bus in order to glue the track together and add a bit more life to this group of sounds. If you like some of the tips that I use and find them useful, then grab a copy of the plugin from one of the links below.

I'm really emphasizing that this is the first video, as with time, I'm pretty sure I'll settle into this new workflow and be able to minimize errors (for example, in this one I had a noise gate on the audio coming from the screen capture, so when you hear the audio breaking on the reverb plugin, that's from a gate kicking in, not the plugin being dysfunctional. Also, I say EQ instead of reverb at one point). But for now, I really want to focus on getting some videos out there to build on, so I hope this first one teaches you something and feel free to comment and let me know where to improve or what you'd like to see more of.

Nice one,

Hi all, I'm back for a second tutorial, this time I'm speaking about the topic of Sidechain and showing three ways where I use the technique in my mixes. This really should be something you use regularly in your mixes, as it allows different elements in your track to interact and not compete with one another. I feel like I'm getting the work flow on these videos a lot smoother, so thanks for bearing with me while I get a better quality video.

Unfortunately, in this video there's a light lag in the video speed at some points, but for me the most important thing is that the audio is consistent and you can see what I'm doing with Ableton with the effects.

Please let me know what you think of what I'm showing you by dropping a comment below. I'm aiming to respond to all comments here.

Hi guys, here's my third production video showing you how I produce a full, rolling drum track. I break down what goes into the full track, showing you all the individual layers and what plugins I'm using for each one.

I'm slowly getting the flow of making videos, and this one even includes some, what they call "YouTube Cuts", to give the video a bit more flow, and text overlay to make up for any errors in what I say. Everything I record with these videos is pretty free styled, so little errors are always expected. I hope you enjoy this one and learn a little bit as always.

Please drop me a comment in the comments section on YouTube, and I aim to answer all questions.

Hi all, I'm back for another video to show you how I create transitions between 4, 8 & 16 bar sections of my tracks, in order to keep a nice flow across a whole song. This is a good thing to do in productions, in order to keep the listener interested and stop your track becoming too repetitive.

This video is a bit shorter than the last ones, but I hope it's a little bit of inspiration to help you make better drum and bass. Please drop me a comment below and I'll respond if you have any questions.

Hi Guys, next video covering how I make a warm Sub Bassline, one of the most common basslines I will make and use in what I make. This is one of the many methods I use to create a heavy sub bass. I hope you find this one informative.

Understanding phase and the relationship of the phase between two layers drums is key to producing a much punchier sounding tracks. In this example I use a kick to show you how this can create a much punchier and tighter sound, but this can also be applied to other drum channels. Happy Producing!

Hi all. My next YouTube video about how I made an analog style signal chain for heavier, cruncier basslines is coming up in the next few days. If you haven't yet subscribed to my channel, please do so, hit the bell and like up my videos, as this is the best thing you can do to support what I do. It costs absolutely nothing to do so and it's the fuel that keeps me going here.

Nice one.

Hey all, I'll be back on YouTube later with another production tutorial...My first one in a while, I know.

The video will be live later at 18:30 CET, so tune in to learn how I made a tech step pad stab sound.

The video will breakdown how I created the sound, which is part of a new pack I released today. The pack contains 25 presets for the Vital Wavetable Synth. Check out the demo sounds on my Bandcamp and grab a copy of the presets if you wanna have some fun with this synth. I've had a lot of fun with this synth recently and I'll probably do another pack if this one goes well, because it makes sound design hella fun.

All the best,
Joe PRTCL

Next video production tip is up now on my YouTube channel. This one covers how I create a big, metallic snare using just a couple of snare hits and the processing I use to make it sound even bigger.

Enjoy!
