To give you a some background: I started producing drum 'n' bass tracks in April this year after purchasing FL Studio 7. I don't use anything apart from my laptop - no synths, etc.
However, my very first attempts at making Drum 'n' Bass began back in 2000 when I was using a Korg M1 synth, a drum machine and a Yamaha MT4X 4-track cassette recorder(!). As you can imagine, it all sounded very amateurish but I made the best out of the equipment I had available at the time. This went on for about 2 years or so.
I then stopped but, like I said, I'm now producing my own drum 'n' bass tracks using FL Studio.
